Nownesia owns the copyright to the editorial content, images, and multimedia published on our platform, unless otherwise noted. We welcome legitimate reprint and licensing requests from publishers, educators, filmmakers, researchers, and brands. This page explains the types of licenses we offer, how to request permission, typical fees and timelines, and legal terms.


What You Can License

  • Article reprints: Full-article republication in print, online, or newsletter formats.
  • Syndication: Ongoing rights to publish a selection or feed of Nownesia articles on your platform.
  • Photographs and graphics: Still images, infographics, and illustrations used in our stories.
  • Video and audio: Short clips, interviews, and documentary footage produced or owned by Nownesia.
  • Content excerpts and translations: Short quotes, excerpts, or translated versions of our articles.

Types of Licenses

1. One-time Reprint License

  • Rights to republish a single article (or image) one time in a specified medium and territory.

2. Short-term License

  • Time-limited permission (e.g., 30 days, 6 months) to republish or host content.

3. Syndication Agreement

  • Regular content supply (daily/weekly/monthly) for third-party platforms. Pricing depends on volume and exclusivity.

4. Exclusive License

  • Limited exclusive rights for a specified territory and period. Pricing and availability are negotiated case-by-case.

5. Educational & Nonprofit Use

  • Discounted or waived fees may apply for classroom use, academic citation, or nonprofit redistribution — subject to approval.

Image and Multimedia Licensing

Images and multimedia may be owned by Nownesia or third-party contributors. Licensing requirements differ:

  • For Nownesia-owned media, request a license via the form below.
  • For contributor-owned media, we will contact the rights holder on your behalf and relay their terms.

All licensed media must include proper credit lines and captions as provided by our editorial team.


Fees & Payment

Fees vary by content type, distribution channel, territory, and duration. Below are typical starting points (indicative only):

  • One-time online article reprint: starting from IDR 1,500,000.
  • Single image (non-exclusive, web): starting from IDR 350,000.
  • Syndication packages and exclusive rights: custom pricing.

All prices are subject to negotiation and confirmation in a formal license agreement. Payment terms will be included in the licensing offer.


How to Request Permission

To request a license, please provide the following information in your inquiry:

  1. Your name, organization, and contact details.
  2. Content details: URL(s) or title(s) of the article(s), image IDs, or video references.
  3. Intended use: full republish, excerpt, translation, social media, broadcast, etc.
  4. Distribution: print/online/newsletter/broadcast; estimated circulation or audience size; target territory.
  5. Duration: one-time, limited-term, ongoing, or perpetual.
  6. Any special requests: exclusivity, modification rights, or rights to sub-license.

Typical Timeline

  • Acknowledgment: within 1–2 business days after receiving a complete request.
  • Review & Quote: 3–7 business days (may be longer for contributor-owned media or complex syndication requests).
  • Agreement & Payment: timeline depends on negotiation; simple one-time licenses are often finalized within 1–2 weeks.

Terms & Conditions (Summary)

  • Permission is granted only after a signed license agreement and completion of any required payment.
  • All licensed content must carry agreed attribution and may not be altered in a way that misrepresents the original meaning.
  • Rights granted are limited to the uses and territories specified in the license.
  • Nownesia reserves moral rights and the right to refuse or revoke permission for unlawful or unethical uses.
  • Third-party rights (e.g., quoted sources, archival images) must be cleared separately if not covered by Nownesia’s license.

A full license agreement will be supplied with each approved request.


Copyright Complaints & Takedown

If you believe your copyright has been infringed by content on Nownesia, please send a written notice including identification of the copyrighted work, the URL(s) of the infringing material, and your contact information to our copyright agent at: copyright@nownesia.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law and our takedown policy.

A: Yes — translations require written permission. Please indicate the target language and whether the translation will be published online or in print.

Q: Do I need to credit Nownesia?
A: Yes. All reprints and licensed content must carry the credit line and link format provided in the license.

A: Minor edits for length may be permitted but must not change the substantive meaning. Substantive edits require editorial approval.
